2009 Sprite Slam Dunk Contest – They Slam, You Decide

Slam Dunk Contest

Here’s an interesting update on slam dunk contest in this year All-Stars: Now you can vote for a dunker that will compete with Dwight Howard – the reigning slam dunk champion, Rudy Gay and Nate Robinson in February 14, 2009 All-Stars in Phoenix.

No, you can’t choose Steve Nash as the 4th dunker… that would be, err, ridiculous. Instead, you are set to choose one of the three selected rookies to compete.

The rookies to choose are: Joe Alexander (woot!), Rudy Fernandez (yeah!), and Russell Westbrook (attack-a-da-rim!).

Here’s the playlist that you should consider watching to help you decide:

When you are ready, you can vote from this NBA.com 2009 Sprite Slam Dunk Poll page.

To influence you :D – My pick is Rudy Fernandez. Joe can hit his head to the rim (and speak a little Chinese) and Russel can drive hard for a jam, but this guy can alley-up with finesse like he said “Vota!” – his dunk is fiercer and scarier than Greg Oden’s, by the way – Watch out Greg!
