A couple of days ago I predicted the Lakers will go 2-0. I was wrong. The Boston Celtics crush the Los Angeles Lakers 103-94 in 2010 NBA Finals Game 2 at Staples Center, LA.
Celtics solid defense and great hustle pay off. Ray Allen leads the Celtics with 32 points on 11-20 from the field and 8-11 from downtown. But the real Celtics hero is Rajon Rondo. He is registering a triple-double, despite missing 2 out of his last free throws (2 out of 5 overall), finishing the game with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
Again, KG’s game is rather flat, despite some great D and off-the-ball actions, such as a great screen set blocking out 2 Lakers player to let Rondo finishes an open lay-up. Garnett’s sub-par performance is probably due to his sore knee – better get that fixed, KG!
From the bench, “Big Baby” Glen Davis plays aggressively despite poor 4-13 shooting from the floor and Nate Robinson enjoys his 100% shooting from the floor, scoring 7 points in 6 minutes of action.
Meanwhile, the Lakers seem to be able to turn back the situation, taking lead in the third quarter. Unfortunately, they can’t contain the Celtics on the 4th quarter, giving up 31 points while scoring 22 points. Gasol and Bynum play some great basketball, especially on the defensive end, blocking 6 and 7 shots, respectively. Gasol adds 25 points and 8 rebounds while Bynum adds 21 points and 6 rebounds (wait, where is the Lakers big men’s rebounds?)
Kobe plays a somewhat quiet game, scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists – with 5 turnovers, while the rest of bench seems couldn’t help with the Lakers’ situation (except Jordan Farmar, maybe.)
Game 3 prediction – Boston Celtics will win and will lead the series by 2-1.
