The Lakers have done it again! It’s not Kobe Bryant, but Derek Fisher who is da real Hero. The Celtics are burnt down by the Lakers’ intensity, losing 84-91 to the Lakers.
Kobe does 29 points, shooting a poor 10-29 from the field, but Fisher’s 16 points in a solid 6-12 shooting and 4-4 from free throw line, including some crucial layups and running shots are what make the difference. Odom silently coming out of the bench with 12 points and 5 rebounds, shooting 5 for 5 from the field, including 1-1 from the downtown and 1-1 from the free throw line.
The Celtics almost reverse a poor start, is let down by Ray Allen’s dismal shooting, 0 from 13 from the field including 0 from 8 from the downtown. Shooter? What a shooter? Maybe he shouldn’t be on the floor for 42 minutes? Kevin Garnett redeems himself with team-high 25 points, along with 6 rebounds and 3 assists in 31 minutes. “Big Baby” Glen Davis has done it again, with 4-5 from the field and 4-5 from the free throw line, totaled 12 points in 23 minutes.
Maybe the Celtics are a bit too old for high-intensity hoop games? KG, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce seem tired of all that stuff. Whatever it is, Fisher, a 13-year veteran, shows that quality does come with age.
Oh well – I guess the Lakers will win the NBA Championship again (darn it!)
