nba all star los angeles

With the recent NBA All-Star reserve announcement, we have now the Los Angeles 2011 NBA All-Star game final rosters for the NBA All-Star weekend February 18-20, 2011.

Despite some questionable choices by the coaches, the rosters will guarantee to bring showtime back to LA. Here are the rosters:

2011 Eastern Conference All-Stars

Starters:

Guard: Derrick Rose (Chicago Bulls), Dwyane Wade (Miami Heat)
Forward: LeBron James (Miami Heat), Amar’e Stoudemire (New York Knicks)
Center: Dwight Howard (Orlando Magic)

Reserves:

Guard: Rajon Rondo (Celtics), Ray Allen (Celtics), Joe Johnson (Hawks)
Forward: Paul Pierce (Celtics), Kevin Garnett (Celtics), Chris Bosh (Heat)
Center: Al Horford (Hawks)

Coach: Doc Rivers (Celtics)

Doc Rivers take this opportunity to bring in his 4 Celtics as reserves. No matter how I like Garnett, Allen and Pierce, the only Celtics should go to the All-Star is Rajon Rondo and Paul Pierce.

Chris Bosh? He doesn’t play a great basketball this season – he is pretty much overshadowed by D Wade and LeBron. I can’t understand why CB is there on the list. Magic’s Jameer Nelson should make the list replacing CB.

2011 Western Conference All-Stars

Starters:

Guard: Chris Paul (New Orleans Hornets), Kobe Bryant (LA Lakers)
Forward: Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder), Carmelo Anthony (Denver Nuggets)
Center: Yao Ming (Houston Rockets – injured)

Reserves:

Guard: Russell Westbrook (Thunder), Manu Ginobili (Spurs), Deron Williams (Jazz)
Forward: Tim Duncan (Spurs), Dirk Nowitzki (Mavericks), Blake Griffin (Clippers)
Center: Pau Gasol (Lakers)

Coach: Greg Popovich (Spurs)

Coach Pop is pretty objective (unlike Doc on the other side of the conference.) Picking Duncan over Parker, Coach Pop still see how Big Fundamental (a.k.a. TD) can bring so much to the table – just like what TD delivers as a role player in SA Spurs: Giving up several points per game, focusing on the D.

The choice of Blake is a bit questionable. Blake Griffin CAN dunk; he does have a great rookie season. However choosing him over my man, Kevin Love – the rebounding monster – is underestimating. Everybody can shoot and dunk, but nobody can rebound like Mr. Love.

Your take?
