This year NBA Slam Dunk Contest is the one to watch. My man Blake Griffin (LA Clippers forward) will participate and if the slam dunk contest prioritizes on power dunks, Blake will be a unanimous winner.
Luckily, slam dunk is not always about power. So the rest of the guys will stand a chance. For DeRozan, he would be very happy to know that Milwaukee Bucks’ Brandon Jennings won’t be able to participate in the Contest due to his injury.
Toronto Raptors’ DeMar DeRozan was a participant last year, losing to the 2010 NBA Slam Dunk champ, Nate Robinson.
With the slam dunk contest will be held on Compton, LA, Ca., DeMar would feel like at home, as he is a local cat (Brandon Jennings of Bucks, the one he replaced, is also a local.)
The other two participants, Washington Wizards’ center JaVale McGee and Oklahoma City Thunder forward/center Serge Ibaka, won’t have a chance to win the Contest, IMO. Both swat a lot of shots, and dunk a lot of rocks, but I think they lack creativity – sorry for that.
The winner of 2011 NBA Slam Dunk Contest – your pick?
