I just found out from NBA.com that the Phoenix Suns are finally fire Coach Terry Porter, despite a nice 28-23 at the All-Star break. Porter’s former Assistant Coach, Alvin Gentry takes Terry Porter’s job on the hot seat.
Forget all the hype and fun during the 2009 All-Star held in Phoenix – Real work for the Suns Decision Makers to clean up their act is pressing, as we are entering the 2nd half of the season.
To add to the already-dark clouds over the Suns with the ‘official’ placement of Amare Stoudemire on trading block and being pursued by strong candidates, such as the Bulls, this transition period from Coach Porter to Coach Gentry will somewhat disrupt the team chemistry, as Gentry promised to bring back D’Antoni fast-paced offense game style.
If so, why the Suns fired D’Antoni back then? Maybe the Suns have realized that they were making a wrong decision?
My prediction: Coach Gentry will NOT survive the heat, not after the end of this NBA season. Amare will go to the Bulls (I wish… :D). The Suns will make it to the Playoff, only to be eliminated in the First Round – simply due to the lack of team chemistry.
Hopefully, my prediction will be proved wrong.
