Basketball is high-impact; talent alone can’t help you go far, especially in the league in where basketball is played at the highest level, the NBA.
You need to prepare your body for constant impact through a well-planned physical training. So, it’s important to have a well-experienced personal trainer to prepare your physique for the big L.
Not only physical training, you also need to watch what you eat. Eating Big Mac in-between games won’t do you good – sure, you should treat yourself well, but eating too much Big Mac and drinking to many fizzy drinks won’t help you at all – you need the right food to power your basketball moves. Now – what to eat, y’all?
Carbohydrates – ballers need carb, but not any kind of carb. You need to eat the right amount of carb. Watch what you eat referring to this glycemic index food list – obviously, you want to stay away from those rank high in GI list.
When you are overweight, you might want to lose some pounds of your body – not everybody can move his big body like Shaq, you know. You might want to consider doing south beach diet phase 1.
Proteins – you need ‘em to be stronger; no proteins, no power.
Hydration – don’t forget, you need lots of water and perhaps power drinks to fuel your engine – but emphasize on water because it’s the best hydration of all.
There you go – go consult your personal trainer what to do if you crave for those fatty and processed foods.
