Due to Rudy Gay’s injury – left hip flexor strain – J.R. Smith will replace him to compete in 2009 NBA Slam Dunk Contest against Dwight Howard, Nate Robinson and Rudy Fernandez.
In my opinion, 2009 Slam Dunk Contest is better off with J.R. than Rudy Gay. Sorry, Rudy…
J.R. Smith is a 6-6, 220 lbs. Guard who plays his 3rd season with the Denver Nuggets. His role in Denver is as a sixth man, and I think he should play starting role regularly.
To date, he plays 50 games (12 starts), averaging 27.7 minutes, 3.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.1 steals, and 13.9 points per game. A nice baller to have in any NBA team!
Here’s a clip on J.R. Smith’s participation in 2005 NBA Slam Dunk Contest to remind you what J.R. Smith will offer you in this year Slam Dunk Contest…
Here’s another one in Nuggets vs. Cats game…
