los angeles lakers win

Intense game from start to finish. Clutch shot after clutch shot. The Lakers are finally securing the NBA Title, defeating the Celtics 83-79.

Struggling all night in shooting, the Lakers compensate their poor shooting with great rebounding and great defense – grabbing 53 rebounds (23 offensive!) and forcing 14 turnovers.

Just ask Kobe Bryant – he doesn’t really need to score to win NBA Champs – 23 points off a poor 6-24 shooting from the field but grabbing 15 rebounds. Pau Gasol and Ron Artest are also heroes – Pau gets 19 points and 18 rebounds, while Ron gets 20 points and game-high 5 steals.

As the icing of the cake, Kobe grabs the 2010 NBA Finals MVP.

As for the Celtics – well, bad luck and I guess the Lakers want the title more than they did. All Celtics’ starting 5 scores double digit, but it was their rebounding that let them down, only grabbing 40 rebounds compared to the Lakers’ 53.

Rondo’s near triple-double of 14 pts, 8 rebs and 10 asts can’t help the Celtics with a win. Garnett is not rebounding, despite scoring 17 points; Pierce’s 18 points and 10 rebounds also can’t lift up the Celtics. And I guess Ray Allen needs to retire – poor shooting in all Finals series, and shooting is what Ray can do best.

Well, congrats to the Los Angeles Lakers for the repeat! And hopefully winning the NBA Champs will change Phil Jackson’s decision to resign from coaching the Lakers (allegedly due to the salary-cut – the Lakers Management should definitely do better deal!)
