2009 NBA All-Star Slam Dunk Contest, Three-Point Shootout, Skill Challenge and Shooting Star

Sorry, Dwight – It’s time for Nate Rob to win the 2009 NBA Slam Dunk Contest (again).

Do you remember back in 2006 when Nate Rob dunk over Spud Webb? This time, Nate Rob dunk over… Dwight Howard!? He’s 6-11, not 5-6 for God’s sake!

Insanity – no wonder he grabs the crown. Congratulations to the not-so-tall-guy-with-insane-jumping-ability!

Krypto-Nate – The new popular name of Nate Rob – defeats Dwight in the finals with over-the-Superman dunk. Watch this fancy dunk by Nate Robinson:

2009 NBA All-Star Three-Point Shootout

Miami Heat’s Daequan Cook is cooking the court in his last 4 shots to defeat Orlando Magic’s Rashard Lewis in overtime, to score 19 in 2009 FootLocker Three-Point Shootout.

In my opinion, this year Shootout lacks enthusiasm, unlike the previous years. Oh, well – maybe next year…

Goodbye Kapono, congrats Cook!

2009 Skill Challenge

Derrick Rose, the Bulls’ #1 Draft Pick Rookie, wins the 2009 Playstation Skill Challenge with a double-pump reverse dunk. The 35.3 seconds he set is enough to bring him the title.

In the finale, he defeats New Jersey Nets’ Devin Harris by 4.4 seconds.

2009 Shooting Stars

The Detroit defeats the Phoenix in this year’s Haier Shooting Stars. The Detroit Team, represented by Arron Afflalo, Bill Laimbeer and Katie Smith, has more determination than the Phoenix Team, represented by Leandro Barbosa, Dan Majerle and Tangela Smith.

Where’s last year champs? The San Antonio is eliminated in the first round. David Robinson and Tim Duncan escape humiliation after Becky Hammon is finally sink one out of the team’s 15 shots from the half court.

That’s it for now – stay tuned for updates from the center stage – 2009 NBA All-Star Game!
