Stupid College Hoops Game Strategy: Never, Ever Do It Again!
I am really sorry – I have to say, that the latest news I stumble upon on a college basketball game is one of the stupidest game strategy I’ve ever know.
The news is from Rivals.com – Yahoo! Sports that stage Davidson vs. Loyola (Md.) that is won by Davidson 78-48.
No, it was not the win margin that people talk about, but how Davidson won the game (or, rather, how Loyola (Md.) lost the game?)
The stupidity is this – Davidson won the game because Loyola (Md.) decided to double-team Stephen Curry, Davidson Wildcats star player, no matter the scenario of the game is.
The result – Curry, 35 points-a-game baller, got zero point with 0-from-3 shooting – thanks to the 32 minutes of double-team.
Come on now – what’s the point of the double team strategy if your team is got beaten by 30 points?
What’s been successful to contain Shaq (the Hack-a-Shaq tactic) a few years ago doesn’t mean it is relevant every situation today. Even Michael Jordan didn’t get such treatment.
Man! This is college hoops, not tag-you’re-it game, for God’s sake!
