It seems that Otis Smith, the Orlando Magic GM, is doing the right thing, acquiring Hedo, Jason and Gilbert. The Magic is now on a roll, winning their last 9 games for a nice 25-12 record, including the last win against the West’s strong men, the Dallas Mavericks.
Magic’s newest members – Hedo Turkoglu (well, he’s not that unfamilar…,) Jason Richardson, and the injury-ridden Gilberd Arenas – are setting aside personal accomplishment to achieve team goals.
Talking about personal accomplishment, Hedo sets an awesome record, dishing 17 assists in a 117-107 win against Dallas – don’t forget his 5 steals and a modest 13 points in the same game.
J Rich is gelling well with his role in the Magic organization, while Gilbert Arenas are still looking for his missing touch due to his injuries that are finally making the Wizards fed up and agree with the deal the Magic is proposing, delivering assists and points the Magic needed from the bench.
Will the Magic continue the streak – I doubt it, but as Arenas gain in confidence, while J Rich and Hedo adapt well to Orlando Magic game, the Magic is the one to watch in the East (and, oh – just forget Miami Heat!)
