Many say that although OKC Thunder is a young, strong and exciting team, OKC won’t go far in the 2011 NBA Playoffs due to lacks of experience. I’ll say – they will surprise you – thanks for some great moves by Thunder management team.
Kendrick Perkins at center, Kevin Durant and Serge Ibaka at forward, Russel Westbrook and Thabo Sefolosha at guard – the Starting 5 is very promising.
Kendrick is an ex-Celtics powerful and experienced center, has been playing with winners for years.
Kevin Durant leads the NBA in points per game average (28.1) and truly a scoring threat with his wealth of offensive .
Serge Ibaka is a strong power forward that will offer formidable presence in the low post.
Thabo Sefolosha will glue the team with his role playing at shooting guard position.
Russell Westbrook will slash and dish like an All-Star (I even personally think Russel Westbrook is a better player than Kevin Durant – sorry, Durrant fans!)
Add to those 5, these great supporting casts: James Harden, the vet Nazr Mohammed (NBA champ with the Spurs,) the entertaining and aggresive little man Nate Robinson, another vet Nick Collison, etc. etc.
With the great combo of well-seasoned and new players – as well as players with great characters on and off the court, OKC Thunder will go far – maybe a Conference Finals spot will do?
What do you think? Is OKC good enough to go deep into the NBA playoffs?
